Robin Williams Postpones Tour, Needs Heart Surgery

Robin Williams is postponing the remainder of his one-man show, “Weapons of Self-Destruction,” to undergo heart surgery.

Williams’ publicist says in a press release that the comedian will undergo surgery for an aortic valve replacement.

Williams was supposed to perform at the Durham Performing Arts Center on March 13. Previously purchased tickets will be honored once the new dates are scheduled, so ticket holders are encouraged to hold their tickets.

In the press release, Williams thanks his fans for their support.

“I’m so touched by everyone’s support and well wishes,” he said. “This tour has been amazing fun and I can’t wait to get back out on the road after a little tune-up.”

Williams began the sold-out 80-city comedy tour in September of 2008.
