Cary High Performs ‘Wizard Of Oz’

Follow the yellow brick road to Cary High School for their performance of The Wizard of Oz.

Students from the high school and a local middle school have come together to bring Dorothy, the munchkins of Oz, Lion, Scarecrow, Tin Man and all the characters of the popular book to the Town of Cary.

For weeks students have been busy building sets, practicing their music and memorizing their lines for this week’s performance.

But for cast members Caitlin Taranto and Joshua Williams, the hard work is well worth it.

“I’m so excited,” said Taranto. “Everyone is doing an incredible job. I love everybody in this cast. I’m going to be so sad when it’s over.”

Williams feels the same way.

“The best thing about theatre is being around the people and the people within the theatre, cause it’s just crazy and so much fun,” he said.

Opening night is Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m. Other performances are Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 per person for all 7 p.m. shows and $5 for Saturday’s 2 p.m. show. For tickets call 380-3615.

Loved it! Great job Ms. Bustamante. Hope to read more from you.

As usual, the students at Cary High School do an outstanding
job in all of their endeavors.

The Drama Dept. always entertains us with ‘Broadway Flair’
and I try to never miss any of their performances.

Applause to everyone involved in the current presentation
of “The Wizard of Oz”…such a timeless story.

Hats off to all of you for a job well done. You’re terrific!

I saw the performance last night and it is wonderful! I laughed through the whole show. The script is different from the movie, much funnier. Everyone is so colorful and they all do a great job acting. Kudos to Ms. Royal, Mr. Yasick, and all the players. Great performance.

I really enjoy every story and videos made by Erica, truly entertaining and professionally done. Great job. Look forward to more.

I worked the tech for this production and its refreshing to hear that people enjoyed it! all of our hard work has really proven itself! i have worked tech at two other high schools before cary high and neither as strict on the “little details” as cary high and thats what really makes this production stand out!

First off, I loved being a part of this production. Getting to walk THAT slow on stage really made the audience laughed.

I feel super amazing to have been part of this historical reenactment.

Ms. Royal may be tough, but she totally knows what she’s doing and I am proud of her and everyone else for bringing this performance together.

:D

when i was a “techie” backstage, it was so amazing. the actors were incredible, and so were the other techies. Congrats Mr. Yasick, Ms. Royal & Mr. Kimberley for putting on a fantastic show!
