St. Patrick’s Day Parade Postponed
Raleigh’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been postponed due to the weather, parade officials announced.
The parade, originally scheduled for March 14 will now take place on March 21.
But those wanting to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, there are still other events taking place this weekend. St. Patrick’s Day Planner
The Hillsborough Street Renaissance Festival will close Hillsborough Street between Gardner Street and Enterprise Street between Noon and 10 p.m.
A road race in downtown Raleigh on Saturday will also have some streets shutdown from 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. The 200 and 300 blocks of South Person Street will be blocked beginning at 7:30 a.m. Roads affected by the race include: South Person, Wake Forest, Chestnut Street, Mordecai Street, Delway Street, Blount Street, Jones Street, Person Street, Edenton, Blount, and Morgan.
Other traffic alerts for the weekend:
- Traffic will be affected downtown on March 14 from 12 p.m. until 12 a.m. The 100 block of N. West Street will be closed from Jones Street south to the driveway of the Power House parking deck.
- Traffic will be affected from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m. on March 15. The 300 block of W. North Street from Glenwood Avenue to a point just east of 301 W. North Street will be closed.
