Justin Long, Evan Rachel Wood To Star In Local Production

PRESS RELEASE — Hollywood star Justin Long will join the cast of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” for five benefit performances as Romeo, at Theatre in the Park. Justin will be joined on stage by actress and Raleigh native Evan Rachel Wood as Juliet.

Justin’s film and television credits include “Accepted,” “Galaxy Quest,” “Live Free or Die Hard,” “The Break-Up,” “Jeepers Creepers” and “Ed,” to name a few. His most recent credits include “He’s Just Not That Into You,” “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” and “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.”

Evan Rachel Wood, returns to Theatre in the Park’s stage where she made her acting debut when she was only months old. She, her father and brother acted together in her father’s musical adaptation of “A Christmas Carol.”

The run of “Romeo and Juliet” scheduled for May 15, 16 and 17 in Raleigh will unite the theatrical Wood family once more, with Evan as Juliet, her father, Ira David Wood III as Capulet and her brother, Ira David Wood IV as Mercuitio and director.

Some of Evan’s film credits include, “Across the Universe,” “Thirteen,” “The Upside of Anger,” “King of California” and most recently “The Wrestler” with Academy Award-nominated Mickey Rourke.

“Romeo and Juliet” will also feature performances from Raleigh actors David Henderson, Lynda Clark and John McIlwee.

Tickets are on sale for five performances at Raleigh’s Theatre in the Park. Reserve seat tickets are still available for $50. Tickets may be purchased online through E-tix or through the theatre’s box office, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Proceeds from the production will benefit Theatre in the Park’s Annual Fund for Community Arts and Education.
