Hundreds Show Up For America’s Got Talent Auditions
More than 100 Triangle residents made their way to Durham for their shot to shine in the national spotlight.
NBC17’s cameras were out at Mark Jacobson Toyota in Durham on Sunday morning for auditions for next season’s “America’s Got Talent.”
Justin Allen Day performed a country tune. He traveled from the Virginia line to do what he enjoys the most.
“You know, I always take the opportunities as they come, and music’s just a passion in my life,” he said.
Day said auditioning is only his first step to make country signing a full-time career.
“I actually plan on moving to Nashville in the next couple of years,” he said.
For Natalia Alexander, 16, auditioning was a family affair.
“If they like what they heard, they’ll get back to me,” she said.
She and her mom agree that with a strong voice and an early age, no matter what, she will shine.
“We’re on our way to LA, because not only does America Got Talent, Natalia Alexander’s got talent too,” her mom said.
Show producers will contact folks who have been selected for the show.
Producers were not on site on Sunday. Instead, recordings of the performance will be sent to the show’s producers for their review.
