2009 N.C. State Fair Concert Line-Up Announced
The 2009 N.C. State Fair is just three months away and fair officials have announced this year’s concert line-up.
Three North Carolina natives will be part of the 11-night series featuring contemporary Christian, country and R&B music at Dorton Arena.
Kicking off the series on Oct. 15 will be Youngsville native Jason Michael Carroll. Carroll is expected to perform songs from his album “Growing Up Is Getting Old”. See his performance on NBC17’s Sessions at Studio B.
Albemarle native and American Idol Top-10 finalist Kellie Pickler will perform on Oct. 17. Pickler performed during the 2007 State Fair.
And Granite Falls native Eric Church will wrap up the series on Oct. 25.
Other artists and dates include:
• Christian rock group Third Day will perform Oct. 16
• Nat and Alex Wolff from Nickelodeon’s The Naked Brothers Band will perform Oct. 18
• Rising country music artist Jamey Johnson will perform Oct. 19
• Motown legends The Temptations featuring Dennis Edwards will perform on Oct. 20
• ”Dancing with the Stars” champion turned country music singer Julianne Hough will perform Oct. 21
• Christian singer Jeremy Camp and Christian group Tenth Avenue North will perform on Oct. 23.
• Country music star Blake Shelton will perform on Oct. 24
And like the previous year, fair officials will have a surprise performer for Oct. 22, which will be announced at a later time.
Tickets may be purchased online beginning Aug. 3 at 10 a.m.
