“Dear John” Stars Coming To Ft. Bragg For Movie Premiere
Hollywood is taking Fort Bragg by storm as stars from the upcoming movie “Dear John” arrive on base for a meet-and-greet and movie premiere event.
Channing Tatum, Amanda Seyfried, and best-selling author Nicholas Sparks will walk the “Camouflage Carpet” at Ft. Bragg for the Dear John premiere.
“Dear John” tells the story of John Tyree (Tatum), a Special Forces/Green Beret soldier home on leave, and Savannah Curtis (Seyfried), who fall in love. Over the next seven years the couple is separated by John’s deployments and stay in contact by sending a continuous stream of love letters.
Channing Tatum will be presented with an “Iron Mike” statue by Ft. Bragg’s Senior Commander, Lt. Gen. Frank Helmick, to honor his portrayal of a soldier.
Tatum, Seyfried and Sparks will also hold a local meet and greet at the York Theater. Following the meet-and-great, the first 600 ticket holders in line will be admitted into York Theater for the movie premiere. Tickets were distributed to soliders on Wednesday. Having a ticket to the show doesn’t not guarantee a seat. Seats are first-come first served.
“Dear John” opens nationwide on February 5.

ever show the york theater has the national anthem played i heard that its actual gonna be sung this year bye spc powell on fort bragg, good choice if so hes a lucky guy to be able to sing for this show and to meet the stars.. way to go powell
I think its so great the movie is having its Premier at Ft. Bragg! One of my Best Friends Cye Powell is singing at the premier..he is so very talented!
I finished the book in LESS then 24 hours it was TOO GOOD TO PUT IT DOWN….I could totally see both actors in the movie as portrayed in the movie..I wished I lived close to Fort Bragg to have been at the meet and greet but I don’t…:(
