RENT Coming To Raleigh Amphitheatre, Auditions To Be Held
Officials at the new Raleigh Amphitheatre have announced that Broadway’s smash hit RENT will be presented on July 2 and 3.
This will be the first cultural arts event at the new venue and one of the first productions of RENT ever performed in an outdoor amphitheatre.
“We are so thrilled to be bringing this show to Raleigh and provide theatre lovers with a chance to experience this caliber of entertainment in a setting like no other,” said producer/director Justin Smith.
After the outdoor performances, additional shows will be performed in Fletcher Hall on July 8-10 and July 15-17.
Local actors will also have the opportunity to be a part of the production. Auditions will be held June 12 in Wilmington from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Roudabush building, located on the corner of Front and Dock Streets. On June 13, auditions will be held in Raleigh in Fletcher Hall, located in the Progress Energy Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Actors need to bring headshots and resumes and prepare the song “Will I”. To schedule an audition time, email rent2010raleigh@gmail.com.
Tickets for the show go on sale on June 4.
