RENT Performance At Amphitheatre To Be Moved Indoors
Well, so much for watching a Broadway musical outside in Downtown Raleigh. Officials at the Progress Energy Center have announced that the Raleigh Amphitheatre performances of RENT will now take place inside at Fletcher Hall.
In a press release, General Manager Jim Lavery, said the move was made to make the show consistent and to reduce the extra costs of putting on a show at two different locations.
“Production at the downtown amphitheatre is still new for all of us and both venues have very different requirements to pull off the production to the expectations of our patrons,” said Lavery. “After further evaluation, we decided it was in the best interest of this particular production to move the entire run inside.”
In addition to the move, a July 1 performance has been added to the schedule. Customers that purchased tickets to the outdoor performances on July 2 & 3 can exchange them or request a refund at the box office.
The performance will run July 1-3, 8-10 and 15-17. Tickets can be purchased at the Progress Energy Center Box Office.
