Billy Elliot To Kick-Off National Tour In Durham
Billy Elliot the Musical will launch its second North American tour right here in the Triangle, according to Durham Performing Arts Center officials.
Not only will this be the first stop of the tour, but the show will also be the theatre’s third season opener. The 2009 Tony Award-winning musical will be playing from October 30 through the 14th.
“On behalf of my fellow producers and the entire production team, we are delighted to be launching the second national tour of Billy Elliot the Musical at the Durham Performing Arts Center,” said producer Eric Fellner in a press release.
Billy Elliot is based on the film and features music by Elton John. The musical follows the story of Billy and his journey as he steps out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class.
